Exam 1 Review MAC 2312 Disclaimer: This review is by no means complete. Please study the homework as well as the lecture notes. These questions should be attempted only after you have completed all the homework assignments. You may need a calculator to solve a couple of these problems, however the exam questions will be choosen in such a way that you do not need a calculator. 1. KNOW the trigonometry formulas like half-angle formulas and the Pythagorean identities. Be familar with Appendix D. 2. Solve the following integrals. (a) R e 1 x (ln x ) 3 dx (b) R 0 -∞ 1 2 x - 5 dx (c) R 3 - 2 1 x 4 dx (d) KNOW comparison theorem! You should read § 7.5, since that section mixes inte- gral problems from sections 7.1,7.2 7.3, and 7.4. Also, check out my random list of integrals. 3. Find the volume of the solid created by rotating the area between the graphs x = 2 y and x = y 2 around the y -axis. Try to use both the cylindrical shell method and the washer method. 4. Find the volume of the shaped created by rotating the function
