What is JSP ? JSPs allow server-side scripting: Static tags are HTML or XML or other markup language. Dynamic content generated by scripting code. Java is the (default) scripting language. A JSP file (has an extension of .jsp) contains  any combination of: JSP syntax.  Markup tags such as HTML or XML.

JSP Vs Servlet  JSP are used for Presentation whereas Servlets  are basically used for applying Business-Logic. Servlets embed HTML into Java code whereas  Jsp embeds Java code into HTML. Jsp are ultimately compiled into servlets by a  Jsp Engine before its execution.
