Review Changes in PLOIDY are changes in the number of sets of chromosomes (diploid, triploid etc). There are AUTOPOLYPLOIDS and ALLOPOLYPLOIDS . Changes in the number of copies of a particular chromosome is called ANUEPLOIDY . Meiotic PAIRING of polyploid chromosome can result in viable or inviable gametes depending on how they pair. NONDISJUNCTION during MI, MII or mitosis can cause changes in chromosome number.
