7/7/11 Introduction to Knowledge Representation Ø It is the theory and practice of representing knowledge for computer systems. Ø Knowledge Representation goals:- ü The primary goal of knowledge representation is to enable an intelligent entity (program) with a knowledge-base to make intelligent decisions about its environment. ü Knowledge must be stored in a way that makes it possible for AI to search it and, if necessary, infer new knowledge from it.
