The theory of evolution and the theory of natural selection. It just explains the notion of natural selection. The fittest shall survive. Why do you suppose the criticism of him was so fierce? Darwin went against the Church. Until this point no one has ever questioned what the Church had to say. 2. How do Darwin's ideas continue to influence science today? Scientists still use the theory of natural selection. A good case example would be dealing with albino of any species, in nature these animals would NOT survive, no concealment of color. 3. How has Darwin's theory of natural selection been used in other areas of study (i.e. Social Darwinism)? The term Social Darwinism is only truly used by it's opponents. The pertains to the fittest and strongest, and the wealthiest will survive. it's opponents....
