GENERAL ADAPTATION RESPONSE 1. ALARM STAGE This is the FIGHT-FLIGHT response If stress continues, our bodies go into resistance stage . 2. RESISTANCE   STAGE Body tries to adapt and cope, uses energy.   3. EXHAUSTION   STAGE All energy for adaptation has been used.   Usually alarm symptoms, then serious illness d/t break down in the immune  system, and possible death d/t organ breakdown.
