Unformatted text preview: Affirmative Action 1 April Ross March 13, 2011 Shelley Landry HRM/240 Assignment- Affirmative Action Affirmative Action 2 Board of directors: For obvious reasons I have come up with a proposal of implementing our affirmative action policies. The fight against discrimination is just as hard today as it was ten years ago. Equal opportunity laws were created to protect the citizens and to offer the same benefits to individuals; no matter who they are. Since it is our obligation to maintain equal opportunity in the work place I feel that the rules and regulations of the company be amended. I believe it would be fair to say that in the last decade the view of discrimination has changed some because of the education provided by our school systems. Unfortunately, just because it is understood better does not mean it is handled better. This has been an ongoing problem for many years and it may never be resolved. The equal opportunity laws provide a safety net for all employees. The purpose is to allow people in the work place to have the same rights and opportunities to job eligibility,...
