Beauty is a universal concept but can be interpreted differently. In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, beauty is defined as the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit. According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, beauty originates from the French word biauté in late 13 th century that denotes seductiveness. The promise of happiness is a most famous definition of beauty by Stendhal. In the poem “Ode on a Grecian Urn” written by John Keats, beauty has both literal and symbolic meaning interpreted in philosophical aspects by Keats in a way that this single word powerfully highlights the whole poem Lovely introduction and thesis!
