Article/Case Law Search Article/Case Law Search In a world that seems to be flooded with law suits regarding health care and regulatory issues surrounding them, it seems very important to understand the health care laws and regulatory compliance. This paper will review and article about the health regulation known as The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, better known as HIPAA. This paper will also review some legal cases and case law in which there are issues and concerns raised regarding HIPAA and the compliance of lack of compliance in some cases. The author that posted this article for review is Helen Oscislawski. The title of the article is Courts Begin Allowing Plaintiffs to use HIPAA as Standard in Privacy Suits. The author writes about a report out of The National Law Journal which reported that there is new concern that HIPAA is creating new legal concerns and fears for health care providers in the cases of privacy suits. There seems to be a growing concern over courts allowing plaintiffs to use HIPAA standards to prove liability in such cases (Oscislawski, 2007). The courts are allowing this even
