Core vocabulary is part of everyday speech such as of, the, it, etc. Learned
vocabulary is what we acquire from education.
5. A) Words like bug spray, fashion show, car thief, buffalo chips, fly paper, heat
shield, sugar beet, ink blot, bank teller and worm drive would be found in the
dictionary separate because they are not commonly seen together and their
definitions can be inferred with the separate meanings of the words. For example
bug spray will have to do with the bug and a type of spray.
B) A type of spray for bugs, a show having to do with fashion, a thief that steals
cars, chips from buffalo, paper that flies, a shield that covers heat, a beet that is
sugared, a blot of ink, a teller in a bank, a drive of certain worms.
