Brodie article – A study of media coverage of health policy, 1997-2000 Compare over time – 1992. Late 1990’s. 2002-5 Brodie: Media coverage of health policy followed rather than led national  discussion and debate. o Do you agree with this? o Is this currently true? Almost ½ of studies were generated by a news event, as opposed to other  sources o Questions about this study- could this be due to the types of issues  focused on? Managed care, Medicare, uninsured, health care costs.  Focus changes. Then managed care was important topic. Now managed  care not most important.
