TASK Create a basic web page Documents viewed on the Web are made up of text like you see on this page. The m difference is that the text also has TAGS . Each tag gives the text an instruction about what to do and each tag has an opening tag and a closing tag like this example: <html> text between tags </html> TAG TEXT TAG Basically, the tags are like a computer language that tells the web page what to do. the example above the opening tag <html> tells the computer to use HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and at the end it tells it to stop using HTML by using the </html> tag. All tags have these brackets: <= open >= close Page 2

HTML has been developed from a more powerful language called SGML or if you prefer Standard Generalised Markup Language . The page shown below is an example of a web page created with HTML. On the left is how we see the page on the web and on the right is the page source, which can be viewed by clicking on VIEW and then Page Source from within your browser Example of a WEB Page Source (frame) of a web page Page 3

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
