TASK Create a basic web page Documents viewed on the Web are made up of text like you see on this page. The m difference is that the text also has TAGS . Each tag gives the text an instruction about what to do and each tag has an opening tag and a closing tag like this example: <html> text between tags </html> TAG TEXT TAG Basically, the tags are like a computer language that tells the web page what to do. the example above the opening tag <html> tells the computer to use HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and at the end it tells it to stop using HTML by using the </html> tag. All tags have these brackets: <= open >= close Page 2

HTML has been developed from a more powerful language called SGML or if you prefer Standard Generalised Markup Language . The page shown below is an example of a web page created with HTML.
