Interpretation of Ethical Systems What would I do based on ethical formalism on situation 1 on page 50 of the text? Ethical formalism would have me help my fellow classmate take the clothing but will tell the classmate to do the same for me. Another way ethical formalism will go is if I tell the owner of the retail store about my fellow classmate in order to move up the ladder. The owner of the business will think that I do it to protect the business, but I do it to get respect, confidence, and to show honesty. What would I do based on utilitarianism on situation 1 on page 50 of the text? Utilitarianism would have me tell my classmate that the best thing to do is to leave the clothes and that it is not worth getting fired for. I would tell him that the job and the friendship are not worth losing if they take the clothes.

Religion would have me tell my classmate that it is written in the bible that it is not what GOD wants and that there is no escaping him, he is always seeing us. Yes you can get away with stealing but it will only catch up to you in the long run. What you do to hurt someone will eventually come back and hurt you, it is called bad karma. What would I do based on natural law on situation 1 on page 50 of the text? Natural law would have me tell my friend that we are friends and we do stick together but what they are thinking is wrong because it is not right. Business is business and friendship is friendship which means that anything that happens during work is work and they have to forgive me for being a company person. I will also be the same friend before and after work and that they should not mix friendship with business....
