At a higher temperature, K w = 1.5 x 10 -14 . Find the pH of a solution if [H + ] = [OH - ]. Solution pK w = -log K w = -log (1.5 x 10 -14 ) = 13.8 Since [H + ] = [OH - ], and 13.8 = pH + pOH therefore 13.8 = ( x ) + ( x ) 6.9 = pH Given your answer in Question 7, does this mean the solution is acidic?
