If a company has a daily fluctuation of energy use and they have certain times during the day when they have peak electricity use, what are some options they can use to reduce the peak loads? Peak Loads means Load Patterns are considered in more detail on the Electricity Demand page and the section on Load Matching gives options for supplying peak loads. Generating plants supplying peak loads will normally have a very poor load factor and so older, less efficient plants are often designated for this purpose. For most electric utilities there are three good ways that the company can generate power: Boil water and use the expanding steam to spin the turbine pass lots of water through a turbine to make it spin, or burn fuel and let the rapidly expanding gases spin the turbine. 2.
