Unformatted text preview: Module Six Writing Assignment As a governor of one of the southwest states in question I would begin by banning all water greedy landscaping by commercial venues. This ban would include country clubs, golf courses and private landscaping, hospitals and churches as well. I would supplement the cost of private citizens who wish to replace their water thirsty landscaping with deserts plants. Once established, a native plant requires little extra water, even in the driest years I would set higher water-saving standards and regulations for new home and commercial water reducing plumbing and fittings. I would also offer tax credits as incentive for replacing old plumbing and fittings. I would promote use of water-saving technology. I would continue research into the use of treated sewage water to irrigate golf courses and parks. Others, I would consider laying pipelines to connect to distant water sources....
