Ethics should be taught, according to 95% of the accounting faculty surveyed in the Accounting Educators Opinions article. Surprisingly, only less than 5% of the Uniform CPA exam is devoted to Ethics (NASBA, 2007). Ethics should be taught without a doubt. Furthermore, I believe the required hours taught should also increase because CPAs do have an obligation to protect the public. Research Question 2: Why ( not ) teach ethics? According to the article, one of the reasons why ethics should not be taught is because of the lack of resources that are necessary to teach ethics. Another reason is that ethics cannot be taught. There are also those who agree that teaching ethics can change a persons reasoning and behavior in general. The article points out some interesting issues regarding why ethics should not or cannot be taught, however, there are obvious benefits as to why it should be taught as well....
