Unformatted text preview: LEAN ACCOUNTING ANALYSIS Process: In this document, I will be analyzing the process of organizing a kids birthday party incorporating examples of the seven wastes as shown on the video Toast Kaizen: 1. Motion 2. Waiting 3. Transportation 4. Storage/Inventory 5. Defects 6. Processing/Over-processing 7. Over production I will also provide suggestions as to how to reduce these wastes, and the costs involved. Organizing and wastes involved: First step in organizing was the invitation process. The invitations were processed using a free online service through evite.com where you design the invitation online, provide email addresses for all those attending, and then the invites are emailed directly to those people. The wastes with this process were: Processing: Designing the invitations. Defects: Possible typos and directions that might have been left out. Also wrong email addresses. Waiting: Waiting for guests to rsvp. This process couldve been improved by sending emails to guests which would eliminate designing the invitations, yet the invitations would still get to the guests quickly. Then a follow up with a phone call for rsvp would eliminate waiting time. invitations would still get to the guests quickly....
