Field trips may be required at students' expense. Textbooks : LECTURE: Biology , 7 th edition, by Neil A. Campbell LAB: Inquiries into Life’s Secrets , by Ponder, Brown, Wegener, Dinchak & Obermiller Course Prerequisites None. One year of high school chemistry or one semester of college-level chemistry is strongly recommended.

Describe cellular transport, membrane structure and membrane functions. 7. Compare and contrast prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. 8. Describe the laws of thermodynamics as they relate to biology. 9. Describe the purpose and components of cellular respiration. 10. Describe the purpose and components of photosynthesis.
