IE 122- Software Tools Spring 2011- HW 5 Due Date: Tuesday 05/03/2011, 11:59 p.m. *For homework submissions make sure you are following the instructions in the syllabus. Q1. Consider a company which produces lightsabers. The manager of the firm would like to determine the production plan for the next 6 months. The demand forcasts up to 6 months ahead are given in Table 1. The raw material are supplied from outside and the material cost varies periodically. These costs are also given in Table 1. Each lightsaber requires 10 units of this material. Moreover, each lightsaber requires 14 hours of manual work, which costs the firm 12 units of money per hour. Other than labor, the firm incurs production costs which vary monthly. The foreseen production costs per unit are given in Table 1. Currently, the firm has a capacity of producing 100 lightsabers per month and this limit is not going to change until next year. Each month the firm produces a number of lightsabers, provides the demand amounts and preserves
