Unformatted text preview: AED 200 Multicultural Classrooms By Elizabeth Carlson Elizabeth Carlson 8/22/2010 Multicultural Education There are many games that a second grade teacher can incorporate in their class that deals with multicultural classrooms. It is a joy to get to play and do activities that will involve all my students. The activities that were chosen will help everyone to get to know each other and the culture they come from. I picked several activities that will involve all of my students. The first game is called story of my name. This game helps us build intercultural respect and understanding of each other. The students can say anything about their name. The students can tell you the origin of their name and the meaning. This activity helps by learning our students and peers names. I believe it will help with teaching respect, too. The second activity that was chosen was child folk games. Folk games are games that relate to many different kinds of cultures you can incorporate songs from different countries and learn them together. You can find many of these folk tales games in an education book store. I have a CD called all together....
