Week 5 Checkpoint Characteristics of Orientalism, Prejudice, and Discrimination 1) Explain the difference between Muslims and Arabs. Arabs are from Middle Eastern heritage and ethnicity. Arabs are an ethnic group and Muslims practice the religion of Islam. Race and ethnicity have nothing to do with religion. All Muslims are not Arabs and all Arabs are not Muslims. 2) According to research and news reports within the past 2 years, what are some of the changes the United States has made to policies concerning the treatment of Muslim and Arabic members of society? Airport security cannot target Muslims or Arabic people especially for extra security measures.
