ARTICLE REVIEW Article Review: Improving Fluid Intelligence Fluid intelligence is a cognitive ability that plays a critical role for a variety of cognitive tasks and is viewed as one of the most vital components in learning (cite). It is agreed that fluid intelligence is strongly against influences of education and socialization, it is considered to have strong hereditary component, which infers that this ability cannot be altered in adulthood (cite). Furthermore, this study shows the relation between fluid intelligence and working memory, which proves that fluid intelligence can be improved with training on working memory. By developing a cognitive training system based on Gabor stimulus the results displayed the possibility of improving fluid intelligence in adults. Methods and Participants The overall goal of this study is to analyze the effects of the cognitive training system to see if it could improve fluid intelligence. The structure of the cognitive training system is based on the dual n-back working memory theory and the principle of Gabor visual task (cite).
