Physical Development Profile In early childhood; which usually occurs during the ages 2 to 6 years old; during this stage children develop language and communication skills. Children also learn new words and they also begin to notice the world around them. Children go through substantial changes in their bodies during this stage. During this stage children are energetic and as they grow they happen to. The child is going to learn how to walk, run, and skip. Children this age are going to be coming more interested in others such as their playmates. In middle childhood; which usually occurs during the ages 6 to 10 years old; during this stage children are going to increase in height and weight as well as losing their baby teeth and getting their adult teeth. Then children are going to become more fluent with their fine motor skills such as handwriting and drawing. Their handwriting will probably become smaller, smoother, and more consistent.
