2 Ethical Actions of Corporations Ethical Actions of Corporations When a corporation from the United States wants to operate in a foreign country, they face many obstacles in sustaining a successful business plan. These corporations also have to make a decision on what should have the highest priority over the ethical actions of corporation: U.S. law or the laws of host nations where U.S. subsidiaries operate. This paper will discuss my feeling on the subject and examples of why I have come to that decision. It is a very debatable issue and I feel torn between both sides actually, but I feel that the host nation where a U.S. subsidiary operates has the higher priority over the ethical actions of the corporation. As vested as the United States is in promoting democracy and free rights to people around the world, I sometimes think that we act like we are the police of the entire planet. Just because something doesn’t work for us here
