1.0 Introduction Human resource policies are the guidelines that give structure and consistency to the activities of the organisation and provides better control over employees and aids in the fair decision-making process. The instructions evaluate and monitor the company practises, which directs both the management and employees about the compliances of the firm and highlights the responsibilities and appropriate remuneration for each staff (Hoque, 2013). With a change in time, accelerated pace of globalisation and intensified use of the internet, the mode of human resource practices have evolved considerably as the multinationals have now started considering the employees as an asset; thus making it imperative for the international firms to adopt and effectively execute progressive HR policies. The primary aim of the report is to highlight and analyse the challenges faced by the organisation in the HR domain and how it needs contemporary human resource policies to mitigate the issues. The company selected for the study is Hilton Hotels, in the UK. The assignment will further recommend strategies to alleviate the identified problems. 2.0 Background of Hilton Hotels In the hospitality industry, Hilton Hotels is one of the leading and renowned names that are present throughout the globe. Hilton Hotels Corporation was established by Conrad Hilton in the year 1919. The Hilton Group started its journey from America, where the headquarters are situated. With the gradual passage of time, the Hilton Hotels developed, evolved their strategies for serving the customers and retaining the employees, marketing and other business aspects; as a result, currently, it has expanded their business in 119 nations worldwide and possess more than 6,100 properties globally (Hilton.com, 2020). 3

Corporatereport.com (2017) reported that unique combination of vision and dedication to integrating innovation in the company structure along with the efficient implementation of the formulated plans of the leaders at Hilton flagged the journey of accomplishment and eminence in the hospitality sector for Hilton. The President of the Hotel averred that the employees are the greatest strength of the firm, and the workforce is well-trained and developed to cater the needs of a wide swath of customers and tourist visiting the hotel and satisfying them beyond their anticipation. As a result, the Hilton group has a legendary number of loyal clients (Corporatereport.com, 2018).
