Hyperemesis Gravidarum Purpose To provide students with the opportunity to assess and manage care for a pregnant patient experiencing severe hyperemesis and to identify and manage a medication error. Overview Becca Roberts, a 20-year-old gravida 1 para 0 African American female at 12 weeks' gestation, was admitted to the antepartum unit on Tuesday at 1600 for hyperemesis. She has been treated with IV fluids for hydration and IV medications for vomiting. The scenario begins on Wednesday at 0730. During this scenario, students will have the opportunity to assess and manage care for a pregnant patient experiencing severe hyperemesis and to identify and manage a medication error. Please, answer the following questions. 1- Identify nursing interventions for a woman with hyperemesis gravidarum.
