Name two techniques used in both types of dating. (3 points) Relative Age is the answers to a question like, "Which is younger?" Relative ages allow us to compare different geologic formations, and determine which is the oldest, next oldest, etc. Relative dating techniques include the Principle of Cross-Cutting Relationships, the principle of Inclusions, the Principle of Faunal Succession, contact metamorphism, and the use of unconformities in the rock record.
