The wall is of thickness L and has a thermal conductivity k T . Note : “Derive” means to make use of basic heat-transfer principles, such as the convection equation U = h p A p (T wp – T p ), in order to arrive at the final expression sought. Simply transcribing the final formula for UA from a reference is not acceptable. Hint : See last page of handout entitled “Modeling Physical Systems”.
