Brittani Richter Deaf Event Paper Oakwood Baptist Deaf Church I attended the Oakwood Baptist Deaf Church Sunday 27, 2009. I am glad to have had this opportunity because I felt that everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The service was interpreted so I was able to understand what was the message was and I was able to pick up new signs. I am glad that I was able to sign with a few of the members of the church even if it was just Hello or nice to meet you. Before the service during welcome and announcements, I met the Associate Pastor Darren and the Pastor Scott. I was able to introduce myself to them in ASL and tell them I was a student. They were glad to have me as a guest, and I then shook hands and signed hello to a few of the other members of the church but did not learn their names. I was very glad to see so many members happy to have me as a guest attending their church service. Once the service got started, I quickly learned amen, follow, and worship because
