Brittani Richter Deaf Event I attended the Second Annual Potato Bar Banquet on Saturday February 13, 2010. It was very fun and the food was very delicious. I was very happy to have this opportunity and be able to meet many new people from the community, as well as an ASL teacher at Tech. When I first arrived, I filled out a raffle ticket for door prizes but in the end I didn’t end up winning any of them. I sat down at a table near the door and a young girl named Danelle introduced herself to me. She is in her 4 th semester of ASL and she enjoys ASL so much she changed her minor to ASL. After, that Laura introduced me to Allan and his wife, Laura and his wife signed with us about how there was more talking going on than signing. It was very true, there was a lot more exact signed English going on than ASL but I think it was because many people brought family member that didn’t know how to sign. Allan said he and his wife were not eating because they were going on a date afterwards to Ohana’s. When I was standing in line I meet two more people. The first person I met was a
