Ml Mineralogy Lab 8 - lnosilicates (pyroxenes and amphiboles) Objective: At this point in the semester we have observed several of the most common
minerals within these mineral groups. In this lab exercise we will focus on identifying
different types of pyroxene and amphibole minerals. In addition, we will evaluate mineral
compositions. The following three minerals are either pyroxenes or are included in the inosilicate
group. The minerals include wollastonite. jadeite.eiepside;augite-. andeﬁhopyrexene.
Identify the dominant pyroxene or pyroxenoid in each slide, list the critical
observation(s) that brought you to this conclusion, sketch an example of the
