Woowoo Ltd is a company that was set up by 5 friends with a love of woodwork. Every week Abbie, Bill, Claire, David and Emma meet in a garage for 10 hours, where they create beautiful wooden stools. Each stool can be sold for $300, requires $30 of raw materials, and is made up of a seat and 4 legs. Stools are created by performing the following activities: Activity Description Duration (mins) Preceding Activity/ies Assigned staff member A Sawing Saw wood into enough pieces for each stool. 30 n/a Abbie B Seat Carving Seat carved from half of the wood pieces. 60 per seat Sawing Bill C Leg Carving Legs carved from half of the wood pieces. 25 per leg Sawing Claire D Assembly Seat and legs are joined. 20 Seat carving, leg carving. David E Finishing Completing the finishing touches to the stool. 40 Assembly Emma PART B Required: Imagine that a customer orders 10 stools, to be delivered in one week. Assuming that Woowoo Ltd has no other jobs but this one, calculate the number of stools that can be made in one week and identify the constraints to filling this order, if any. [3 marks]
