Week 9- checkpoint: What role, if any, do you think people should play in preserving those regions threatened by human encroachment? People live everywhere and have affected environments long since. When national parks and nature reserves are set aside there are nearly always native peoples who are displaced from their traditional homes. Rather we should speak of regions to protect from capitalist encroachment and exploitation. How should the interests of competing groups be balanced?

I mean we are drilling for oil which when sold makes us money without that money we are in even more trouble. And it's impossible to only take as much as we need because oil is nonrenewable and when it's gone it's gone. We can make new technology to make these processes less harmful but we can’t stop them or balance them....
