Stressful Job Conditions Exercise Learning objectives: Identify specific work-related characteristics that might lead to stress Describe the likely impacts of stress on behavior at work Provide a clear set of directives to managers so they can help employees manage stress Rationale: The goal of this exercise is to reveal the presence or absence of various stressors in a job, and to consider the ways in which organizations can help employees to cope with such stressors. In addition, the exercise will help you consider how the impact of stressors and stress can change according to the situation, as well as how stress may impact attitudes and behaviors on the job. Overview: You have been retained by Merrill Lynch to help them address problems with employee stress that have been identified in recent surveys of their employees.
