Whether an artist finds it necessary to exactly replicate a person or warp it, they must understand what they are working with first. It is a base technique, almost as important as still life. This level of ethics is an individual one, giving a person the right, not the obligation to further their education. It should not be the decision of a school to decide what a student has the right to learn. If the university can teach it in a mature manner, it can only be a positive tool. I would look up information on different schools websites and look at their course descriptions. If there is no explanation about the course material, or lack there of, my high school art teacher left a Christian university because she was not able to study nude drawing. Educational journals would be another source that could be helpful....
