HDL Designer 1-Run FPGA Start > programs> FPGA Adv. > FPGA Adv. 2-Create a new library File > New library Specify the library Type Æ Regular Next Specify the library name -- Æ Training_HDL Make the default library Finish 3- Open Library File > Open library 4- Create a block diagram File > New > Design Content > Graphical View Block diagram Next Design Unit name ---- > BD 5- Add two blocks Add > block Put two blocks then press Esc. 6- Add embedded block Add > Embedded block You will have the following figure

7- Each block (blue one) should have block name beside a label. Double click on <block> and name the first block as count8 and the second as decx8. 8- Connect between them as shown in the figure You may need the following commands (or you may use the buttons directly) Add > port in Add > port out Add > signal Add > bus To connect between any 2 objects (add signal/bus and click in the first object then move to the destination object and click another one)

9- Rename the signal names so that you will have the following figure NB. In order to change the name, you can double click on the signal/bus
