A Brand name goes a long way and usually I consider it to be a main selling point for the company. Cost which not only competes aggressively with other top companies but also usually provide a warranty with purchase. Finally reviews of the product are looked at because everyone likes to know how the product has worked out for other customers. 3. Vendor Viability and Vendor Support would be best to select for custom development. The last thing a company wants is to license software from a vendor with poor reputation. This business may not be in business the next day. Ch. 3 2. Clarizen is rated number 1 for project management software: Pros: Email-style formatting runs from an online server, which allows access from anywhere. Cons: There are so many features that some may feel overwhelmed with all the possible

Cons: Before diving into the program you'll need to take the tutorials and familiarize yourself Tenrox is rated number three: Pros: An extensive set of features allows you to maintain strong lines of communication with workers, employees and clients. Tenrox can also import Microsoft Project files. Cons: Tenrox does not include forums for you to communicate with other team members during a project I think the best advice to give someone about purchasing software is asking them what they plan to use it for and how user friendly the software is. If the software is something that is so complex that you have to “re-learn” every time you use I then its pointless to you and the business....
