Since communication is key to any relationship whether it be, friends, family, workers, co-workers, etc, being without it is critical in any situation. With communication in the workplace you are given your task(s) for the day, evaluated on well your performance is and what you can do to improve your performance. If communication is limited then these main three fosters in the workplace are ignored which then creates a poor work environment. Employees will not be given tasks and since there are no tasks they cant be evaluated on them which means there will be no telling them how they can improve their performance.

Unformatted text preview: Downward Communication: As an employee your manager or group leader will assign goals, provide instructions, give information about policies and procedure and basically evaluate you as an employee. However, this type of communication does not have to be face-to-face since management can send out corporate letters or emails to all staff members. Upward Communication: Flowing to higher levels in the corporation, upward communication provides feedback to "higher-ups" of what's going on in the business. It is also used to help keep mangers "in the loop" about their employees and for ideas for improvement....
