WK8 CKPT Dorfman Pacific’s problem is that they picked their products in an obsolete way called paper-based picking. This keeps the company from being able to handle the large orders from clients that come in from places like Walmart, so they hired temporary people and paid out $250000 a year for overtime wages. They can use many strategies to handle their problem, such as analyzing and streamlining their information system, training in advance for their order processors and changing the way that their company works. They could also try to adapt their current enterprise resource planning system and put in a new management system for their warehouses that would allow them to use wireless devices so that they can operate more efficiently and keep up with their shipping and

This would tell them which solutions would work from a financial, organizational, and technical viewpoint. Dorfman Pacific wants to lower their labor costs and allow their employees to pick products while making fewer errors. I think the best way would be to change the enterprise resource planning system and allow the warehouse to bring in a new management system that will allow them to take advantage of the wireless networking capabilities.
