One is a hardbound textbook titled “Online Ocean Studies”. The other is a softbound book titled “Online Ocean Studies Investigation Manual. You may purchase your materials online with a credit card using the college's OnAccess system. This is a unique system that will ensure that you are purchasing the correct materials for the courses for which you have registered. Go to http://www.uvsc.edu/bookstore/ for this service. You can also have materials shipped to you by calling the Bookstore and giving them your credit card information and material order. Please note that the investigation manual will be consumed during the course and therefore the package may not be sold back to the bookstore at the end of the course. It is due by Sunday, May 17 at 11:59 pm. Course Work Section 1. The Earth System- Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4 Section 2. The Ocean and Atmosphere- Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8 Section 3. Ecosystems and Climate- Chapters 9, 10, 11, 12 PROCEDURES The student will read each chapter in order. After reading a chapter, the student will complete both of the corresponding investigations, A and B. The questions of the investigation are found in the book entitled “Investigation Manual”. The investigations will be submitted using the blackboard “Assessment Tool”. After logging in to blackboard, click on “Assessments” on the left hand menu. Answer each question. See Investigation Submission Link on the course content home page for more instructions. The assignments for the chapters in each section should be submitted to me during the week in which it is assigned. All assignments are due by Sunday night at 11:59 pm the week they are assigned. Due dates are listed on the schedules link (see course orientation). Late investigations will be accepted only until the exam deadline corresponding to each section. (Section 1: chapters 1-4 will not be accepted after the exam #1 deadline of June
