Meaning that the possible employee has to have the right “skills, knowledge, and abilities” for the job position that is open (DeCenzo, D. Robbins S. 2010, Page 34). Human resources also help with the training and development function. The training and development function for human resources is where they help the new employee find the “skills, knowledge, and abilities” to perform their jobs at the most successful rate (DeCenzo, D. Robbins S. 2010, Page 36). Human Resources also help in getting the employee motivated. Human resources tries to find exactly what makes each person tick, or find what motivates the employee to work harder and to be the most productive (DeCenzo, D. Robbins S. 2010, Page 37). Human Resources also help in the maintenance function (DeCenzo, D. Robbins S. 2010, Page 37).
