Court Decision Judge stalls Michigan drug testing program for welfare applicants Gail Jones I disagree with the ruling because people are abusing the system. There are people who need the assistance and using the funding for its intended purpose. Then some people are abusing the system and receive food stamps and will sell the stamps for cash money to purchase drugs. The government thinks giving people and EBT card instead of paper food stamp it will cut down the illegal sell of food stamps. But even with the EBT card people will find away to abuse the system. If you apply for a job you are required to take a drug test so I feel there is no difference between doing a drug test for welfare applicant and a job applicant. There are some people receiving food stamps that are not drug user some will sell his or her stamps for cash to pay bills or pay Christmas present for his or her child. So the real concern would be how to stop fraudulent use of food stamps by all not just drug abusers....
