EE240-A2-2010 Assignment #1 Due September 24, 2010. Problems 1 to 4 are for practice only – do not hand in solutions for these but keep them to compare with the solutions posted later. Only hand in a solution for the problem at the end. 2. In parts (a) and (b) below, find the power absorbed or supplied by the circuit elements. Make two lists and label the answers with the elements value. [(E.g. P 8V =(-2A)*(8V) = - 16W; )] 3. Find V ae and V cf in the circuit below. Count the voltage rises and drops between the points in question. So, e.g., V ac = V ab + V bc = -4V + 9V 4. Find the power supplied by the 12V source and the power absorbed by the 40 k Ω resistor in this circuit. 1. Determine the powers supplied to elements 1 and 2 in the figure to the right. How much power is absorbed or supplied by the rest of the circuit on the left? (Answer: 4W supplied.)
