REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATIONS2Background IntroductionA new technology invention of an economic low voltage motor was founded by a small business called Precision Electronic Parts (PEP). This product was mainly used for medical equipment, but is now highly sought after for multiple different applications. PEP’s current infrastructure for their systems in billing and invoices cannot keep up with the outstanding demand and can no longer handle the burden. IB Systems (IBS) is taking on the task to propose a new system that will alleviate the financial departments issues on falling behind on creating invoices, processing billing, and collecting payments. The requirement specifications of the newsystem, detailed below, will be presented to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Mark Temple and the IT Steering Committee (ITSC) for final approval. I.Functional RequirementsIn order to provide the best proposed system solution, there are many functional system requirements that must be met in order to ensure PEP will meet contemporary industry standards. These requirements will help obtain faster business processes for efficiency, sufficiently operate within budget constraints and provide scalability, and proficiently utilize resources.A.Output RequirementsSales Report– the sales department utilizes this to update the invoicing account tomanipulate and share data for new, existing, and closed accounts and provide key stakeholders an overall view of sales.Ordering & Shipping Report– this report updates the invoice database with the customers purchased and shipped products and codes affiliated for key stakeholders to manage logistics and inventory.Accounts Receivable Report– accepts, tracks, and shows customer payments and billing to assess collection and overdue fees.
