United States Senator 2 freed men. Moreover, he is trying to please the confederates. Lincoln believes that all men should be a part of every day life, as equal not separate. He wants to give the confederate amnesty; he does not want them to be looked upon as criminals. Additionally, Lincoln he wants to pay the confederates for property, such as plantations, which they had slaves on, I believe that Congress, not the president, should set the terms under which states would regain their rights in the union. Furthermore, I believe each state should have its own government, and that government should abolish slavery. I also believe African Americans should have the same civil rights as the white man; a right to education, a right to own property, and a right to sue or be sued in the court of law.
