Axia College Material Appendix B Final Exam Access the Electronic Reserve Readings link on your student Web site for Week Nine. Select one of the topics below and read both articles that present opposing sides of the argument surrounding that topic. o Animal experimentation o Outsourcing o Media violence Answer the following questions in paragraphs of approximately 100 words demonstrating your critical and creative thinking skills. 1. Identify if the topic you chose, as presented by both articles, is a problem or an issue and explain what makes it a problem or an issue. If you believe the articles present both problems and issues, identify and explain what the problems are and what the issues are. With the first article, I believe that it has been over exaggerated; the article deals with the issues of media violence influence on today’s society. It dictates, despite all the studies on the effect of media violence from all the factors that can influence aggressive and violent behavior. However, this article offered no solution just more issues. The second article, “Media Violence Promotes Violent Behavior”, this deals with the problem and also gives solutions on what you should limit the effects of media violence. The author states, that we should limit the exposure of how much aggressive and violent behavior we see or hear. 2. Were the problems or issues expressed effectively? Describe how the problems or issues were or were not best expressed. In this article, “The Role of Media Violence in Violent Crime Has Been Exaggerated”, it has been over exaggerated also; the issues were not expressed effectively. It showed too much personal opinion and not enough research on the information to back up the issues that the author was trying to communicate to the audience. It shows no validity or truth in what she was saying. In the second article, “Media Violence Promotes Violent Behavior”, the author was effective in his expression of facts and reliable solutions to the issues. He showed validity and truth in the way he communicated with his audience.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
