Creating a Database Manually ________________________________________________________________________ Assumptions: We are going to create a database called ‘ music ’ and the SYS password would be ‘ magic ’. Steps: 1. Run the DBCA (Database Configuration Assistant) to create the following scripts a. createdb.sql b. createdbfile.sql c. createdbcatalog.sql Locate these files using the Find option of Windows and note down the path. These scripts are needed to create the database as they contain all the necessary SQL commands for creating a database. It is advisable to note down the file contents. These scripts are created while running the DBCA and when prompted choosing the option to create script files only .
