17:04 Exam 3 Lecture 2: Totally Queer Queer as an identity category: o Umbrella term for: Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Trans Straight Allies Political term saying that says they are going to reject the idea that only  heterosexuality is right Challenges traditional nuclear family Queer as an aesthetic o Both in terms of making theatre and viewing performance o Queering theatre Queer Aesthetics: o Gay/Lesbian experiences o Historically non-realist They do so because that way you can tell what they are  o Camp Making something so over the top that you reveal it’s truth (can be  used as a humorous tool) o Innuendo and Double Meaning Making a statement that means something other than what you are  saying Meaning more than one thing
