Course Goals: Develop a basic understanding of the structures, metabolism and biochemistry that allows a cell to function. To understand how various cellular processes interact. . Relate what you learn about cellular processes to what happens in disease, aging and development. To obtain first hand experience with equipment and basic techniques commonly used in cell biology research. To gain experience utilizing the Internet for scientific information. Develop skills necessary to maintain accurate record keeping and analysis of experimental data necessary for work in academic, medical and industrial fields. .

Blackboard and Email: All BIOL 301 students must have both NEIU email accounts and Blackboard accounts. When you register and pay you are given these automatically. When you register for the class make sure to use the e-mail address you will use throughout the term – also make sure this is the address listed on blackboard .
